According to the National Weather Service, the tornado that hit Suffolk, Va., April 28 had estimated winds of 160 mph. Amazingly, over the tornado’s 10-mi. (16 km) path through the city, there were no fatalities. Reports say approximately 200 injuries occurred in the state of Virginia that day because of the numerous tornados that hit. (9 m) wide overpass at Interstate 90 and Exit 61 at Rapid City, S.D. It will be widened to 205-ft. (62 m). The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) awarded the Interstate 90 Exit 61 construction project to Stanley J. Johnsen Concrete Contractor Inc. of Rapid City.
