The excavation for the tank-set, though rather large — about 65 sq. ft. (6 sq. m) — was only 16 ft. (4.87 m) deep. Route 400 Bridge Replacement Under Way →

The $10,075,436 replacement of the two bridges at Route 400 over Route 240 (Harlem Road) will be completed next year when Nichols, Long & Moore Construction replaces the two parallel bridges over two weekends. The work also includes the mill and overlay (13 lane mi.) with ADA compliance work on Route 240 from Orchard Park Road to Route 400 in the town of West Seneca in Erie County. The city of St. Louis closed the Kingshighway bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks (between Southwest/Vandeventer and Shaw Boulevard) and Daggett Avenue on July 6 so that the 75-year-old bridge can be torn down and replaced — an $18 million project that was awarded to Kozeny-Wagner Inc. The project, including construction, land acquisition and design, is the result of funding from the Federal Highway Administration (80 percent) and Union Pacific Railroad (20 percent). Attendees saw crusher bucket models designed for both excavators and high-flow skid steers and a screening bucket model for excavators.
