The 1100 by 650 track XR400 is Terex Pegson’s “new generation” hydraulic-release jaw plant, featuring the “M” Series single toggle design. It provides hydraulic overload protection, high throughput, increased reduction capability and greater protection against damage from tramp iron and rebar in the feed, according to the manufacturer.

The aggressive, high-swing jaw can accept large feed and the user can quickly change machine setting with no drawback rod adjustment. Fuel consumption is typically less than 6 gal. per hour due to the HFO direct drive system.

The hydraulic feed hopper folds for easy setup and the unit features under-crusher access with underscreen feeder option. A self-supporting hydraulic folding feed hopper with wedgelock system enables easy setup. It has a Caterpillar C9 powerpack and a single electrical control system for plant and engine. CE and ANSI wire mesh or sheet metal guards are on all drives, flywheels, pulleys and couplings. The machine also includes a PLC Can-bus control system for feeder start/stop/speed, a product conveyor start/stop/lower, crusher adjustment, and product conveyor raise/lower.

The product conveyor discharge height is 13 ft. (4 m); the conveyor lowers hydraulically for transport. A hydraulic raise/lower mechanism on the product conveyor gives greater access for rebar removal. Other features include a cantilever vibrating grizzly spring-mounted vibrating pan with twin heavy-duty cast eccentric shafts running in spherical roller bearings; gears coupled at the drive end; dust suppression sprays and supertooth jaws, which are fitted as standard. Some other standard equipment includes a side/dirt conveyor, an overband magnetic separator and a radio remote control.
