Mercedes Plant Expansion Brings Vance 2,000 Jobs →

Last Fourth of July, torrential rains washed out the approaches to two bridges on Interstate 80, closing the nation’s busiest highway for a week while repairs were made. Kenco Group Builds $12M Warehouse for General Mills in TN →

The Kenco Group, based in Chattanooga, TN, and operating in excess of 15 million sq. ft. of warehouse space in 19 states and Canada, has expanded in Wauhatchie, TN. The $23-million project, which straddles the state line of Georgia includes a 688,000-sq.-ft. $12-million warehouse that will store cereal. It has been designed with room for future expansion up to a million sq. ft. General Mills moved in as tenant in February. As owner/developer, Kenco will play a role in economic development, and likely receive some leeway on property taxes. Inc. decided to purchase a wheel loader for its sawmill operations, the company wasn’t looking for something “run-of-the-mill;” the Lexington, NC-based business needed a rugged machine that would help it move thousands of pounds of timber, bark and mulch daily with little downtime. When Kawasaki recently unveiled its new 95ZV loader, two central New York aggregate producers were quick to be the first on their block to own one. W.F. Saunders and Son Inc., of Marcellus, NY, recently purchased a Kawasaki 95ZV from Tracey Road Equipment.
