Caterpillar Autonomously Reaches Hauling Milestone →

For the first time in mining history, trucks equipped with Cat MineStar Command for hauling have autonomously moved more than 1.1 billion tons of material in less than a year. Roughly 1.3 billion tons were autonomously hauled in 2021 using Command for hauling. In total, Command for hauling trucks have autonomously and safely hauled more than 4.4 billion tons of material since 2013. Curry Supply Company, a manufacturer of specialized commercial truck equipment, has announced relocation of its main manufacturing facility from its current location in Martinsburg, Pa., to Hollidaysburg, Pa. Pan-United to Power Concrete Mixer Trucks With Electricity, Hydrogen Fuel Cells →

Concrete and cement provider Pan-United Corporation is studying the feasibility of using electric and hydrogen fuel cells to power a fleet of more than 1,000 trucks. The company announced on Jan. 5 a partnership between its subsidiary Pan-United Concrete and consultancy Surbana Jurong to study the possibilities of decarbonizing Pan-United's diesel-powered trucking fleet. BHP announced a partnership with Caterpillar Inc. to develop and deploy zero-emissions mining trucks at BHP sites to reduce operational greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This milestone is the result of more than 12 months of close collaboration between BHP and Caterpillar Inc. in analyzing energy demands and the options to apply this new technology on BHP sites.
