While riding a tricycle over a partially submerged bridge, the woman became trapped, clinging to a tree, NBC4i reported. Firefighters arrived with an excavator, extending the arm in an attempt to reach her. The Nebraska Department of Transportation, via the Build Nebraska Act, is spending close to $170 million to convert roughly 26 mi. of U.S. Highway 30 (U.S. 30) between Schuyler and Fremont in Dodge and Colfax County from a two-lane road into a four-lane expressway on new alignment that in places is 1.5 to 2 mi. north of the existing U.S. 30 alignment.
