Work has begun on a major component of MassHighway’s Route 128 highway expansion project, a lane-widening effort that will bring rush hour relief to thousands of Boston area commuters. Already under way, following Gov. Deval L. Concrete General Leads $47M Md. Project →

From Construction Equipment Guide... A new interchange is making steady progress in Montgomery County, Md. The project involves MD 355 at Montrose/Randolph Road in Rockville. The $47.2 million Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) job is funded through a combination of federal and state monies. It began in the summer of 2008 and is approximately 40 percent complete and on target for a late fall 2010 completion date. (4.8 km) stretch of U.S. 82 through the Sipsey River Swamp in Tuscaloosa County, Ala., have had to contend with a number of water-related issues, from endangered species relocation to destabilizing wet clay in the soil to flooding. It is beautiful, scenic and peaceful — but it is also dangerous, as it is susceptible to collapse during an earthquake. In fall 2010, it will be gone. The facility will manufacture mid-sized vehicles in the United States rather than importing them. Jersey Fresh: Conti Mends Aging Raritan River Span →

The current rehabilitation of the Garden State Parkway’s Alfred E. Driscoll Bridge across the Raritan River in New Jersey has its foundation in a cooperative operation involving the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) and the Garden State Parkway (GPS).
