Metso
Metso introduced its life cycle services (LCS) for pumps availability in autumn 2025, and the offering has gained acceptance within the industry.
Metso has since signed several small- and mid-sized multiyear LCS contracts across key regions in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas, reflecting market demand for solutions that deliver reliability, safety and performance improvements. In February 2026, Metso secured two five-year LCS contracts to service more than 100 slurry pumps for mining customers.
LCS for pumps is Metso's performance-based, multiyear service solution that improves pump availability, extends wear life, enhances safety and lowers total cost of ownership through long-term, predictable partnership.
The aggregate value of the combined orders has not been disclosed. Generally, an order value for LCS pumps can be up to several million euros, depending on the length and scope of the order.
Operational Benefits With Life Cycle Services
Mining and industrial operators are increasingly moving away from transactional pump purchases and seeking lifecycle-focused service models guaranteeing stable performance and continuous support.
"Our customers want a partner who supports them throughout the full lifecycle of their pumps," said Roshan Kadanthode, vice president, pumps services of Metso. "With LCS, we bring a performance-based approach aligned with their operational and financial targets, helping customers reduce downtime, improve efficiency, enhance safety and secure reliable pumping performance year-round."
• Metso pump applications selected for each site may differ, but Metso's partnership is designed to deliver consistent and measurable improvements across key operational areas.
• Optimized pump operating envelopes improve effective pump availability by approximately 5 to 10 percent.
• Extending component wear life by 15 to 25 percent reduces replacement frequency and lifecycle costs.
• Standardized maintenance procedures, purpose-built tools and improved service planning can significantly reduce maintenance intervention time, with a potential decrease of 20 to 30 percent unplanned pump-related downtime.
• Hydraulic optimization and enhanced operating practices can deliver a 5 to 10 percent improvement in energy and water efficiency.
• Enhanced safety through standardized procedures, purpose-built tools and fewer unplanned interventions.
• Optimized parts availability through commitment-based stocking.
• Predictable, long-term field service support backed by Metso's global pump expertise.
Comprehensive Slurry Handling Offering Across Full Flowsheet
Metso delivers a comprehensive slurry handling offering covering slurry pumps, MHC hydrocyclones, slurry valves and slurry hoses and pipe systems, ensuring efficient, reliable material transport across the full processing flowsheet, according to Metso.
Recent portfolio expansions, including the acquisitions to strengthen slurry valve and flow control capabilities and to bring hose manufacturing inhouse, further enhance Metso's ability to provide integrated, end-to-end slurry handling solutions for mining customers globally.
Integrated digital tools, such as condition monitoring and predictive analytics, provide real-time insight into pump and slurry handling performance, helping customers increase reliability and optimize maintenance planning across the process, according to Metso.
Beyond the product and digital offering, Metso has built a global footprint for pump delivery, repair, reuse, testing and recycling, ensuring strong local support across regions.
