The Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP) held the 57th annual Convention and Aggregate Miner Safety Conference Dec. 2-3 at the Springfield Crowne Plaza in Springfield, Ill. The show is the largest aggregate industry trade show in the Midwest showcasing associate members' products and services.

The show began with an expanded Opening Reception and Casino Night in the Expo Hall. The enlarged layout allowed attendees to enjoy hors d'oeuvres and visit exhibitor booths then participate in Casino Night, the Bags Tournament and other activities in one centralized space. The evening also featured the $5,000 Education Raffle and a silent auction.

The expo serves as a central platform for companies to showcase products and services to IAAP members.

Lightning Talks, held in the main session room, allowed IAAP Expo exhibitors a platform to introduce their company, outline services, promote booth visits and share contest information. Educational topics included:

• Illinois Center for Transportation Research Update

IDOT Policy Seminar

• The Electricity Market and On-site Solar Opportunities

• The Future of AI in the Aggregates Industry

• Silica Rule and Other MSHA Issues

• Advancements in Construction Equipment and Electrification

This year's keynote was delivered by Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Secretary Gia Biagi.
