Tri-Supply & Equipment, based in New Castle, DE, recently sold the first JCB 714 articulated dump truck in the Mid-Atlantic region to Artesian Water Company, of Wilmington, DE. According to Norman Taylor, manager of facility and vehicle maintenance of Artesian Water, the company will immediately begin employing its 714 on a variety of utility job sites transferring soil and other material. The 714, along with the 718, take the place of the original 712. This new range is being developed to better meet the market need for a high performance smaller off-road articulated dump truck that provides maximum ease of operation and serviceability, according to Matt Walsh, JCB Mid-Atlantic regional business development manager. “JCB is back in the articulated dump truck business,” said Walsh. “Using the latest technologies available in the areas of computer aided design, robotic fabrication and computer-controlled componentry JCB presents two new and improved models based on the fundamentally sound light articulated dump truck design JCB pioneered. Both the 714 and 718 offer a spacious, center-mounted, climate-controlled, pressurized cab equipped with an air suspension seat that is designed to keep operators comfortable and safe over the longest work shifts. The one-piece tilt forward hood allows easy access to the engine and all daily checkpoints. Performance features include a six-speed, fully automatic transmission with on-demand two- or four-wheel drive, a Cummins B-series 6-cylinder fuel efficient diesel power plant, and Super Max Trac Limited slip differentials for automatically engaged tractive effort. “We at JCB could not be more excited about this new range of artic dump trumps,” said Walsh. “These trucks are quickly becoming an integral workhorse on many new housing developments and golf course projects across the country. Because of their size and high flotation off-road capabilities they can travel on, get to, and perform in most any location on a job site. These trucks can haul on the same roads of a housing development that residents drive on, but also can work on the undeveloped portions of that same housing development.
